Kaleta is a dirty player who gets suspended every year and takes bad penalties on a regular basis. He also rarely ever fights and 90% of the time turtles when someone try's to fight him he is a straight up puss true story. |

where do you rank Miller on the list of best goalies?
and also were do you rank him for value, given his cap hit? |

Miller still has a ton of value. He just needs a fresh start where he doesn't have to be the captain in front of the media. |

What is the whole point of that long blog ? Everyteam has a player like kaleta if he was the only player who did this in the hole league im sure he would get more praise for his ice packs and what not but teams have had players like this for years and years so why would it be a big deal all of a sudden |

no point in ranking him. any goalie in this league is as good as any other at any time.

I tend to agree on that, goalie is the last position I'd want to sink in over 6 million on, I'd rather give that to a forward or d-man. |

I guarantee you are a bigger puss. True story |

Kaleta gives up 56 (!) SA/60 down a man. If you want to qualify just about everyone who has seen PK time, only Stafford and Hecht are worse.
I don't know where the ice bags are coming from, most of the shots when he's on the ice seem to hit the goaltender.
You want to talk strong PK work? Steven Ott. And this Porter fella' has some impressive splits, too. |

I can't agree with you there. Reimer has better stats than Miller this year and if your team played tomorrow there isn't one team that would have reims start that game (given the option) |

i spent an entire work lunch break looking up stats the last time this whole storm got big.
brodeur and patrick roy only 2 goalies in the history of the NHL to be one of the 3 highest paid players on their team and win the cup.
so its not even a new phenomenon. |

How are McClements? Just curious. He seems to have played a large part in turning Toronto's around. |

One of best qualified PK F in the NHL. Toronto's kind of blessed -- they have two of them (Kulemin, too.)
Both about 33 SA/60.
Toronto's not a good even-strength team, but one area where I think Carlyle's really improved this club is penalty killing. |

well i mean theres obviously exceptions. nobody wants patrick lalime either.
give me a 3-4 million dollar goalie and i'd argue thats the best way to build your team. detroit is going to be hard to use as an example since they are all super old, but as soon as they resign howard for big bucks they are going to go downhill
rinnes big contract is really getting nashville places. lundqvist, bryzgalov, kiprusoff, im sure theres more.
how better off would these teams be if they had a goalie without a big name and maybe a bit less skilled, and one more big time player in front of the goalie? |
